Adrienne M. Kennedy, 88, passed away on March 16th, 2021 in Gurnee, IL. Adrienne was born in Chicago and moved to Gurnee in her early 20’s when she married Jack Finkel. She graduated from South Shore High School in Chicago and attended the University of Illinois at Navy Pier. She raised a family in Gurnee and attended Gurnee Community Church where she volunteered and taught preschool. She also made lifelong connections with many fabulous people.
After divorcing her first husband, later in life, she married John K Kennedy and they enjoyed each other’s company immensely. Adrienne was a home maker until her forties and then became a friend and confidant to many while working as the office manager of Poor Richard’s Pub in Gurnee. She loved to talk with people, always wore her “rose colored glasses”, saw the best in everyone, and lovingly gave advice.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donnell William and Hazel Miller, husband, John Kennedy, sister, Denise Newman, daughter, Pamela Finkel, and grandson, Russell Wagoner.
She is survived by her brother, Don Miller; her sons, Jeff, Jim (Karen), and Chris (Kim) Finkel. Adrienne leaves behind wonderful grandchildren, Nicole (Dennis Sin) Heraver, Matt (Megan) Behringer, Kari Behringer, Ryan (Drea) Finkel, Bianca (Ben) Aldrin, and Evan Finkel; and great grandkids Brody, Campbell, Ellaney, Chelsea, Ava, Lea, Nolan, Bella, and Callahan. She shared a special bond and friendship with granddaughter Kari in her latter years. Adrienne loved to laugh, be with family and friends, and have a good time.
