Alice Johnson passed peacefully on January 26, 2023.  She was 88 years old.  Alice was born and raised in New Jersey.  She was married to her high school sweetheart, Walt Johnson, for 63 years.  She was preceded in death by Walt and her daughter Sandy.  Alice has three children Kathy (Jim) Gilliland, Walt Jr. (Charmaine) Johnson, and Bill (Maria) Johnson.  She has three surviving siblings, Anna May Lloyd, Edgar Messick, and Harry Messick.  Alice had 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

They moved to Illinois in the mid-sixties and raised four children.  Her favorite job was working as a cafeteria worker at the school her children attended.  She eventually left her position to babysit her grandchildren.  Alice loved flowers, birds, and country music.

Memorial visitation will be Thursday, February 2, 2023 from Noon until 1:00 p.m. at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N Cemetery Rd. (located on the northside of the intersection of Tri-State Parkway and Cemetery Rd.), Gurnee, IL  60031.  The Memorial service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, also at the funeral home. The inurnment is scheduled to be private. For further information please call 1-847-855-2760.
