Alvin Carrier

Alvin James Carrier, 93, of Waukegan, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. He was born June 26, 1920 in Muskegon Heights, Michigan to George and Leona (Martin) Carrier. He is survived by his loving son, Raymond (Linda) Carrier; grandchildren, Stacy (Rich) Davis, Carrie (Mark) Frederick, Jennifer (Jamie) Karow, Kevin (Kelly Manning) Carrier, Patrick (Rachel) McGinnis and Lisa McGinnis; great-grandchildren, Alexandria McGinnis, Olivia Karow and Elaina Karow; brother and sisters, Vivian Bixeman, Virginia DeWitt, Doris Johnson and Evelyn (Dalton) Mater; sisters-in-law, Jean Carrier and Betty Carrier; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special caregiver, Donna. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 63 years, Betty Carrier; son, James Carrier; daughter, Karen Edmunds; sister, Marie Deuling; brothers, William Carrier and George Carrier; brothers-in-law, Don Bixeman, Bill DeWitt and Monte Johnson. Alvin was a United States Navy Veteran. Visitation is Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at WARREN FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. James Merold officiating. Interment will be private at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
