Ausie Dean Underwood

After 83 years, Ausie “Dean” Underwood, went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2026. Dean married Dixie Rae Elblein in 1967 and together they shared 45 beautiful years of marriage until her passing in 2012. Dean was blessed to find a love a second time. He married Dorothy “Dottie” Miller in 2014. Dean was born on November 7, 1942 in Winston Co. AL to Odos and Delora Underwood.

Dean was proceeded in death by his parents Odos and Delora Underwood, his wife Dixie Underwood, sister Barbara Woodard, and brother-in-law Bill Woodard.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years Dottie Underwood, his children; Dina (Donny Green), Mike (Lisa) Underwood, Bobbie (Mark) Griffin, nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. With Dottie came the added blessing of her three children, eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren, brother Wendell (Ruth) Underwood, sister Sharon (Jerry) Goodchild and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held in Maryville, Tennessee. Friends and family will meet for visitation on Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 8:30AM-10:30AM at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. The memorial service will begin at 10:30AM, followed by interment at Warren Cemetery.
