Barbara Schaefer

Barbara Schaefer, 85 of Zion, formerly from Wadsworth, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion, Illinois.

She was born on March 17, 1933 to Warren & Irene (Irving) Miller in Waukegan, Illinois. On May 23, 1953 she married William A. Schaefer in Waukegan. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2006. She enjoyed cooking for her family especially holiday meals. Barbara was active in her son's activities including sports and scouting, and really enjoyed the family camping trips. She was very active at Rolling Hills and was the President of the Resident Counsel.

Barbara is survived by her sons, William A. "Bill" (Holly) Schaefer, Warren A. "Skip" (Lynne) Schaefer and Donald S. (Donna) Schaefer, her grandchildren, Billy Schaefer, Christie Schaefer, Amber (Mike Devora) Schaefer, Meghan (Billy Wolfe) Bradley, Samantha Schaefer, Zachary Schaefer, Donald "DJ" Schaefer, Dillon (Kimberly) Schaefer, and her great grandchildren, Tyler and Natalie.

She was preceded in death by her husband William A. Schaefer, her parents, and her beloved family pets throughout her life

Visitation will be Monday August 27, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Warren Funeral Home located at 1475 N. Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, Illinois and again Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Funeral services will be Tuesday August 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Dr. Cecelia Harris will officiate.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Rolling Hills for their love and compassion toward Barbara.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's name to Save-A-Pet located at 31664 N. Fairfield Rd. Grayslake, Illinois 60030 or the Rolling Hills Manor Life Enrichment fund located at 3615 16th St. Zion, IL 60099.

Burial will be at Warren Cemetery located at 1475 N. Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, Illinois.
