Betty King

Betty Jane King, age 78 of Gurnee, IL passed away August 9, 2017 at Vista Medical Center in Waukegan, IL. She was born in Chicago, IL to the late Henry Vincent Sissac and Gwendolyn Sissac (nee Johnson).

She is survived by her children Herschel (Rhonda) Sissac; Gwynette Denise Cox; Reggie King; 11 grandchildren, Angelic, Nicholis, Mirey, Bryce, Andre, Kristen, Myles, Ileana, Seve, Adrian, Jordan; 3 great grandchildren, Aneah, Jalen, Amir; 2 brothers Henry (Carol) and Carl (Leslie) Sissac; 2 sisters Dorothee McGrier and Linda (Bill) Burden; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, SFC Major King on September 13, 1980. They were married on January 2, 1968. Betty was also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, James, Michael, Eugene, and Anthony Sissac.

Betty enjoyed embroidery, day trips and sightseeing with friends from the Senior Center, but a favorite hobby was being a "Grandma" to hers and neighbors. She was also a member of the Waukegan Seniors Park District.

Services will take place at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL on Saturday, August 19, 2017 beginning with visitation at 11:00AM until time of Services at 12:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes or Juvenile Diabetes foundation in Betty's name are appreciated.
