A Life of Faith, Family, and Grace

Betty Williams, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, departed this life peacefully on July 18, 2026, surrounded by love and sustained by faith. Born in McNeil, Arkansas, on July 13, 1934, Betty spent her early years in Muskegon before making Waukegan her permanent home.

Her Legacy

Betty built a legacy rooted in God, family, faithfulness, service, and love. She was blessed with a large family who brought her immeasurable joy, including her children Samuel Frierson of Muskegon, Michigan; Ronny Coleman (Vladek Jusziewicz) of Yucca Valley, California; and Robert Carson of North Chicago, Illinois; her loving sister, Lorine McBride of Muskegon, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, loved ones, and dear friend Mrs. Claudine Jarrett.

A hardworking and determined woman, Betty retired from Highland Park Hospital after several decades of dedicated service. She will be remembered as the loving center of her family and for the warmth she shared through her cooking, hospitality, and presence. Her pound cake, hot water cornbread, and caramel cake were treasured family favorites, lovingly prepared and fondly remembered.

Cherished Remembrance

Betty was preceded in death by six of her children: Donald, Michael, Katy, Sharron, James, and Douglas. Their memory remained forever close to her heart, and her enduring love continues through the generations she leaves behind.
