Marlene Katherine Scott

Marlene Scott, 83, of Grayslake, Illinois passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at her home surrounded by loved ones.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (affectionately known as the Grannygogo), and friend.

She was born on July 25, 1939 to Raymond and Ardelle Hacker.  Marlene was married for 31 years to her husband, Alfred Scott.

Nothing made Marlene happier than her time spent with family and friends.  She loved entertaining at hers and Al's backyard pool and was always up for a game of volleyball or Marco Polo.  Marlene enjoyed the vacations her and Al would take after they retired, especially the Disney cruises with their grandchildren.  She loved animals, gardening, playing cards, decorating for all holidays, and eating sweets!

Marlene is survived by her husband, Al Scott; her daughters Debbie (Carl) Gardner and Sue (Jesse) Rodriguez; her step-children Brian (Robin) Scott, Dawn (Mike) Shannon, and Keith (Dan) Scott; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Ardelle Knox and her step-mother Geri Knox.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 18th, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N Cemetery Rd. (located on the northside of the intersection of Tri-State Parkway and Cemetery Rd.), Gurnee, IL  60031.  The Funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. on the same day, also at the funeral home. The placement of her urn in the niche at Warren Mausoleum (the same property as the funeral home) is scheduled to be conducted at a future date.   For more information please call 1-847-855-2760.
