Debra Monroe, 69, of Gurnee passed away in the small hours of Tuesday, May 14th, 2024.

Debra was born in 1954 to Roseanne and Joseph Seketa and raised by parents Roseanne and Joseph Bretzlauf. She married the late Dwight Monroe and with him had two wonderful children. As a younger woman, she was a computer programmer at Abbott Laboratories and enjoyed social sports such as golf and bowling, and taking vacations or going to the cinema with her family. After retirement, she took full advantage of her time to relax at home with her dogs, punctuated by an ever-developing foodie hobby, regularly trying new local eats.

Debra is survived by her two children, Jenny Carlson and Josh (Tracy) Monroe, four beautiful grandchildren, and her two dogs Smokey and Wolfie.

A celebration of Debra's life will be held Friday, May 17 from 10-12 with prayers and stories at noon at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL.
