Diana Rivera

Diana Rivera, 73, of Beach Park, IL passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, at the James A. Lovell Health Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 22, 1949, in Wellsburg, West Virginia to Robert and Olive Wilson (nee Gamble).  On December 7, 1971, Diana married the love of her life, Fred Rivera, and they spent the next 51 years together.

Throughout her life, Diana was a huge supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers.  She collected all sorts of memorabilia and would cheer them on at every chance she had.  Through the years she also enjoyed playing pool, and card games, particularly Euchre, but her true love was for her family.  She was a mother to her children, but she also welcomed many “Bonus” sons and daughters into her life and shared her love with her many nieces and nephews who she loved.

Diana is survived by her husband, Fred; daughter, Sherry (Israel) Cabrales; son, Tony (Jen) Rivera; grandchildren, Ricky Rivera, Raymond Rivera, Tony Rivera, Jonathan Cabrales, David Cabrales, Harley Cabrales, and Freddy Cabrales; great-grandchildren, Isabella, and Sofia Rivera; and her siblings, Marla Gonzales, Mervin Wilson, Ted Wilson, and Dora Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Fred W. Rivera Jr. (Marissa Salas), and Robert Rivera; and her brothers, Larry and Robert Wilson.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at noon, at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL.  Interment will follow at Warren Cemetery.
