Dolores Alden, 98 of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 surrounded by family. She was born August 20, 1927 in Joplin, MO. On May 23, 1946 she married John Alden in Kansas, they were married for 72 years before his passing in 2019. After raising her family in Waukegan, IL, she worked for Great Lakes Naval Base in North Chicago as a military pay supervisor.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her simple and peaceful life, and her love of Jesus Christ. She attended Immanuel Baptist of Waukegan for many decades and also Gurnee Community Church. She loved being with family, watching westerns, and playing golf. She remained active and independent, still golfing into her early 90's, recently giving up driving this past spring.
She is survived by her children John Richard Alden II, Charles Gregory (Terri) Alden, and Charlotte Alden Shanteau; her daughter-in-law Kristen Alden; her 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister Nonie Strimple.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ray Dick, her son Ronald Alden, and her daughter-in-law JoCleda Alden.
The family would like to thank St. Catherine's Froedert Pleasant Prairie Hospital for all of Dolores' care in her final days.
