Born: January 25, 1939 Died: October 10, 2022
Dolores Rosel Kilpatrick, 83, of Waukegan, Illinois went to be with her Lord on October 10, 2022.
Born on January 25, 1939 at her family home in Pakil, Laguna, Philippines. She was one of five children born to Maria and Florentino Rosel. Dolores married the love of her life, Dale R. Kilpatrick on February 23, 1968 in Ridgeway, PA. They were inseparable until the time of her death.
Dolores was educated in the Philippines at the Far Eastern University in Manilla. She traveled to the United States to work as a registered nurse with a nursing exchange program. Dolores started her career at Deaconess Hospital in Great Falls, Montana. She eventually settled in Waukegan at St. Therese Hospital where she worked for more than 35 years specializing in trauma/emergency room nursing.
Dolores enjoyed traveling with Dale by motorcycle for short day trips and week-long trips that took them across the country. Other passions included baking, cooking, knitting, sewing and gardening. In the past few years, she and Dale rescued and adopted two mischievous cats, Madison and Max. They provided her with many hours of entertainment and she always had a funny story to share about their day.
The things that made Dolores the happiest was spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her soulmate and husband, Dale R. Kilpatrick; her children Tracy (Seth) Gordon, grandchildren Connor, Sophia and Allison; Brian (Jenny) Kilpatrick, grandchildren Kailey and Chole; and Diane (Tim) Gerton, grandchildren Shannon and Kristen; and a sister Virginia.
