Eva Munding, born Eva Schubkegel, passed away peacefully at age 89 on March 7, 2026 in Kenosha, WI. Born in Romania in 1936 to Kasper and Eva Schubkegel, she met the Love of her Life and married Joseph Munding in Wilsthut, Austria on March 5, 1955. The couple immigrated to America in 1956, arriving via Ellis Island.
Eva worked briefly in Chicago for Florsheim Shoes, notably helping make golf shoes for President Eisenhower, claiming her initials were in his pair. While living in Chicago, Eva and Joe started a family, and Eva became a stay-at-home mother after having two sons. They soon started their dream home in Fox Lake, Illinois where the family spent most weekends building. They spent many years in Fox Lake with family before moving on.
In 2006, Eva and Joe moved to Raymond, Wisconsin, living on a hobby farm with their son David and his wife Theresa, enjoying farm life with the animals and their grandchildren. Many memories were made on the farm with family and friends and they both loved it.
Eva's life spanned nearly nine decades, during which she witnessed and experienced remarkable changes in the world. Born in Romania, she carried with her a rich heritage that shaped her life and those around her. Her family will cherish the memories they shared with her and the legacy she leaves behind.
She is survived by her loving son David (Theresa) Munding; her cherished grandchildren Nicholas (Amanda) Munding, Stephanie (Mitchell) Kusek, and Joseph (Cassandra) Munding; and her precious great-grandchildren Tyler (Hailey), Kayla, Ryan, Michael, Lorelai, and Dominic. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Jody Schubkegel; niece Kate Schubkegel; nephew Todd (Jeannette) Schubkegel;; and her aunt Marie (Roger) Farris. She is a beloved aunt, cousin, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who now and love her.
She is preceded in passing and joins in Heaven her beloved husband of 61 years Joseph Munding, her son Michael Munding, her brother John Schubkegel, and her parents Kasper and Eva Schubkegel.
