Floyd Jackson Jr., age 77, of Park City, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, at Warren Barr Nursing Home in Highland Park, surrounded by care and compassion.

Born on September 20, 1948, in Hannibal, Missouri, Floyd was a man whose life was defined by love, laughter, and quiet strength. He was a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, a caring brother, and a loyal friend. Floyd lived his life guided by his Baptist faith and a deep belief in treating others with kindness, respect, and understanding.

On December 3, 1973, Floyd married the love of his life, Joan Dade of Canton, Missouri. Their marriage was built on love, commitment, and partnership, and together they created a family filled with warmth, humor, and unwavering support. Floyd took great pride in his family and found his greatest happiness in simply being with those he loved.

Floyd had a special way of making people laugh and feel at ease. His smile, sense of humor, and gentle presence could brighten any room. He enjoyed fishing, where he found peace and joy, and treasured the quiet moments it allowed him to share stories, laughter, and reflection with family and friends.

For 14 years, Floyd worked at Commonwealth Edison as a mechanical technician. He approached his work with dedication and pride, always willing to learn, take on new challenges, and help others whenever he could. He was respected not only for his skills, but also for his reliability, humility, and strong character.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife, Joan Jackson; his sons, Floyd Acua Jackson III and Nigel Jackson; his sisters, Martha Taylor of Zion, Illinois, Paula Abbey of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Bertha King of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Kathy King, Debbie King, Dorothea Renee King, and Sonja Jo King, all of Hannibal, Missouri; his step-sister, Vonda Sue Logan of Temple, Texas; his brothers, Craig Eugene King of Columbia, Missouri, Steven Rufus King of Omaha, Nebraska, and Corey Lamont King of Hannibal, Missouri; and his beloved grandchildren, Devante Jackson of Meridian, Mississippi, Zalay Jackson and Floyd Jackson IV of Gurnee, Illinois, and Laken Jackson of Arizona.

Floyd will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the memories shared, the lessons taught, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to their family and friends, as well as the dedicated healthcare professionals, for their compassion, support, and many expressions of sympathy during this difficult time.
