George Hook

George C. Hook, 89, of Wadsworth, passed away June 21, 2016 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. He was born February 7, 1927 in Waukegan to George P. and Elsie M. (Carroll) Hook. He married the love of his life, Catherine A. Paulsen, on August 23, 1958 in Waukegan. George was a SSGT in the US Marine Corps during WWII and Korea. He was a longtime member and Past Post Commander of the American Legion Homer Dahringer Post 281 in Waukegan, and was a Lineman for ComEd for more than 30 years. George was a loving father to Evelyn (Rob) Smyth and Robert (Jackie) Hook; cherished and loving grandfather to Lauren, Katie and Maddie Hook; and leaves to cherish many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and beloved wife, Catherine A. Hook who passed away on October 1, 2014. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016, 2:00 pm with Pastor Ben Squires officiating at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee with visitation one hour prior to service from 1:00-2:00 pm. Burial will be private at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
