Gloria Fay Harper

Gloria Fay (Nabors) Harper was born to the late George Nabors, Jr. and late Annie Mae Nabors on July 16, 1951, in Munford, TN.

Gloria Fay Nabors and Henry Harper, Jr. married in North Chicago, Illinois and to that union, three children were combined and four children were born. They were married 52 wonderful years.

Gloria and Henry started their family in Waukegan, Illinois and then moved to North Chicago, Illinois, where they resided over 40 years. Gloria was employed by and retired from Abbott Laboratories; she was also a community leader and business owner.

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, Gloria passed away surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Henry C. Harper, Jr.; (6) children Joseph W. Simon Jr., Angelique (Samuel) Martin, Henry Harper, III, Jason Harper, Nicole N. Harper and Heather Dawn Harper; (5) sisters, Jane Gadson, Diane (James) Smith, Patricia (Vernon) Bond, Janice Hernandez and Vanessa Stackhouse; (5) grandchildren Mia Harper, Michael Simon, Scott Usma-Harper, Joseph Simon III and Syone Usma-Harper; and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will deeply miss her.

Gloria was preceded in death by her son, Scott Allen Harper, father, George Nabors, Jr., brother, George Robert Nabors and mother, Annie Mae Nabors.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, Saturday, July 18 at Warren Funeral Home in Gurnee, IL.
