Gwen Dembosz, 93 of Plainfield, IL, passed away at home on Monday April 30, 2018.
She was born on November 30, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Charles & Florence (Grout) Peckham. On July 3, 1946 she married John Dembosz. He preceded in her death in 1995. Gwen belonged to the Widow and Widowers Group. She enjoyed knitting hats for cancer patients, needle point, crossword and picture puzzles. She got a special kick in advising her financial advisor with her successful stock picks. At 93, she had 9 grandkids and 18 great grandchildren. She was the sweetest most wonderful person with the best sense of humor. Everyone loved her so much. We already miss her laugh and smile. Watch over us grandma, you will forever be in our hearts.
Gwen is survived by her daughters; Margie (George) Serafin, Sandra (Kenneth) Beta, Lizabeth (Stefan) Przybocki-Roessingh Van Iterson, grandchildren; Kimberly (Brock) Serafin, Carrie Schultz, Lauren (Ian) Lampe, Audra (Daniel) Yakhnis, Shelby (Donald) Beta, Cassandra (Randall) Pedrosa, Sebastiaan, Seth, and Dante Roessingh Van Iterson, as well as her grand dog Max whom she truly loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, her brothers and sisters, Evelyn (Fauntleroy) Gunnerson, Florence (Samuel) Jarvis, Dorothy (Alvin) Gray, Lucile (Harry) James, Desmond (Louise) Peckham, Ivan Peckham, Pearl (Richard) Rand, Barnard (Betty) Peckham.
Visitation will be held on Monday May 7, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 10:00 until time of service at Warren Funeral Home located at 1475 N. Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, IL . Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Warren Funeral Home on Tuesday May 8, 2018. Committal service will be at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum located at 7201 Archer Avenue Justice, IL. Father James Merold will be officiating.
Entombment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum.
The family is being assisted by Warren Funeral Home.
Donations will be forwarded to "Assistance in Healthcare" for CTCA patients.
