James Hagerty

August 18, 1949 — January 21, 2017

James Robert Hagerty, 67 of Gurnee, IL passed away at Highland Park Hospital on January 21, 2017 surrounded by his family.
James was born on August 18, 1949 in Waukegan, IL. to the late Robert and Vinetta Hagerty. On August 15, 1987 he married the love of his life Phyllis J Cashmore and has resided in the Gurnee area ever since.
He worked for ComEd as well as the Ann Kiley Center which he retired from due to health issues. James was a very giving person of his time and talents to his church, family and friends. He had a love for food and cooking, he loved putting on barbecues and even started his own business, James R. Hagerty Catering but health issues cut that short. He held many offices including President of his church. James is survived by his wife Phyllis, brothers Michael (Terry) of Beach Park, Thomas (Wanda) of Wadsworth, Daniel (Sylvia) of DeFuniak Springs, Fl., Robert(Tina) of Lantana Fl, sister Kathleen of Antioch, Il. He is also survived by daughter, Lyn (Tom) Champeau, son, Charles (Lynn) Cashmore, a special Brother-In-Law Lester Geer, Tom (Pat) Koppelman, five granddaughters and six great grandchildren. Also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2720 McAree Rd. Waukegan, Il., from 10 am to 12 noon with service immediately following. Burial at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee. Special Thanks to Dr. Dixit, Dr. Degani, the caring personnel at Warren Barr Facility along with the staff at Highland Park Hospital.
In lieu of flowers donations to the family would be appreciated.
