James L. Kruschwitz

James L. Kruschwitz, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Cathy Kruschwitz nee Trezek; his loving children Jerry Kruschwitz, Christina (Shawn) Payton, Dawn Kruschwitz, and Julie Kruschwitz; his cherished grandchildren Bella and Alli Payton; his dear brother Ron (Peggy) Kruschwitz; and his precious nieces and nephew Shelly Tilton, Bradley Kruschwitz, and Jennifer Jones.

He is preceded in passing and joins in Heaven his parents Reuben and Vera Kruschwitz and his brother-in-law Jerry Trezek.

James was an active member of the Navy for 22 years and retired here in Illinois. He enjoyed refereeing/umpiring many youth sports. He was an active supporter of Special Olympics. He enjoyed talking with people everywhere he went. You could always find him rooting for the Minnesota Vikings.

Friends and family will meet for visitation on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 4PM-6PM at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. The funeral service will then begin at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.
