Jonell Cashmore

Jonell B. Cashmore, 70, of Lindenhurst, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Aurora Hospital in Kenosha, WI after her battle with cancer. She was born July 9, 1946 in Waukegan to Alden and Virginia (Salk) Laufer. On August 7, 1965 she married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Terrance Cashmore, and they spent 54 wonderful years together. For most of her career she was an LPN at St Therese Hospital in Waukegan, then retired to care for her ill parents until their passing. After their passing, she worked at the Lindenhurst Park District, running the senior program. After working for the park district, she started her own travel business called Jo's Getaways. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Card Clubs and Mahjong Clubs. Jonell loved traveling all over the world with her husband and family, and also enjoyed reading, shopping, her cats (Maggie & Minnie), but most of all, spending as much time as she could with her family and friends. She was a special, wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother with a heart of gold, truly one of a kind, who may be gone, but will never be forgotten. She is survived by her loving husband, Terry; three daughters, Ginger (Paul) Setzer of Gurnee, Wendy (Chad) Paul of Lindenhurst, Nicole (Dan Florio) Baylor of Wadsworth; very proud Lala of eight grandchildren, Kristie (Nick) Furlan, Kyle and Kaden Setzer, Alyssa and Andrew Gersy, Cailtlyn, Dylan and Jordyn Baylor; one great grandchild, Tyler Furlan; one brother, Charles (Diana) Laufer of Grayslake, and many wonderful brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many very dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Laufer. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 5-9pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 11am with visitation from 10-11am prior to services at the funeral home with Pastor Brad Davick officiating. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
