Joyce Laverne Mazurek

It is with deep sadness and eternal love that we announce the passing of Joyce Laverne Mazurek, 88. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on February 4, 2026. She is survived by her beloved children Kenneth (ElDonna) Mazurek and Deborah (Michael) DeRue; her precious grandchildren Mark Mazurek, Danica (Jody) Dierks, Brandon DeRue, and McKenna (Chandler) Campbell; her great grandson Grant Dierks; her dear sister Carol (Jim) Phillips; and her dear nieces and nephews Jenny, Beth, Andy, Christine, Matthew, and Paul. She is an adored cousin and friend to many who will miss her deeply.

Joyce found joy in many things: gardening, spending time with family, playing cards with friends, and traveling. Memories we will cherish forever. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the many years we were given with her. Her legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the traditions she passed down, and the love she planted in each of us. We will never forget her “ tiny but mighty” spirit.

A service to celebrate her life and her love will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 10:30AM-11:30AM at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. The funeral service will begin at 11:30AM, followed by entombment at Warren Cemetery and Mausoleum.
