Judy Benton

Judy Rae Benton, 80, of Burlington, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2022, at Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, surrounded by family.

A memorial service to celebrate Judy's life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Wesley Free Methodist Church, 3601 N. Lewis Avenue, Waukegan, Illinois. The service will be at 2:00 p.m. To honor Judy's life of caring for others around her, you may consider making a charitable donation to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Judy was born in Waukegan, Illinois on August 31, 1941, to Ray and Norma (Parrish) Savage. Judy was the eldest of four siblings: Albert Raymond (Corky) Savage, Jr.; Thomas James (Tommy) Savage, and John David Savage. After graduation from Zion Benton High School, she obtained her beautician license and worked as a hairdresser for several years. She also worked as a dental assistant for twelve years in Waukegan and Lake Forest in the office of Dr. Fondriest, DDS. Judy always found time for her enjoyment of creative hobbies such as sewing, baking great desserts, jewelry design, stamping, and producing one-of-a-kind greeting cards.

Judy is survived by her two devoted daughters, April Funderburk (Karl Leder) of Gleason, Wisconsin, and Jody (Mark) Ellerbrock of Burlington, Wisconsin; brother John (Janie) Savage; grandchildren Kyle (Amanda) Fields, Gavin Ellerbrock, Julianna Ellerbrock, Joshua Ellerbrock, and Aiden Ellerbrock; great-grandchildren Mason Fields and Isabella Fields, and numerous other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Norma Savage; husband Allen Benton; brothers Corky and Tommy Savage, and other beloved relatives.

Judy was a kind and loving soul to all who knew her. Spending time with family, friends and her church community was her greatest joy.

The family is being assisted by Warren Funeral Home, Gurnee, Illinois.
