Karen Swartz

Karen Lee Swartz, 65, of Waukegan, passed away Jan. 11, 2017 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. She was born May 5, 1951 in Battle Creek, MI. On June 23, 1973 in Battle Creek, Karen married the love of her life, David L. Swartz. Karen played the flute in high school and college. Held season tickets and attended the Lyric Opera in Chicago. She loved art and was an amazing artist. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, David; parents, Marwin and Mary Schnau; sister, Tanya (Patrick) Freeman; father-in-law, Harold Swartz; mother-in-law, Margaret (Bruce) McFadden; one niece and one nephew. Visitation is Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017 from 1-4pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services are Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 at 11am at the funeral home. Burial at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
