Laverne Brewer

Laverne Margaret Brewer (nee Uutala), age 84, of Round Lake Beach passed away Thursday, November 16 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.  She was born September 25, 1939, in Ashland, WI, to Verner and Marie (nee Kokko) Uutala.  Laverne was an avid rose gardener, and grew and tended her family with the same dedication and care.  When not outside in the flowers or on the water, she ardently rooted for the Packers all while the love of her life, the late Larry Brewer, cheered on the Bears.  The two were married for fifty-one years - over half a century.  From their union, Laverne has daughters, Cynthia (Robert) Birr of Cary, IL and Ruth (Stephen) Jones of Coppell, TX and their children - her precious grandchildren - Kyle, Kate, and Joshua to carry on her legacy of love.  She is also survived and remembered by her siblings' surviving spouses, Maribeth Uutala, George Newman, and Connie Uutala; and their children and children's children - her many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Laverne was preceded in death by her twin sister Lorraine (the late Eugene) Price, her brother Willard Uutala, her sister Charlotte Newman, and her brother Richard Uutala.
