Leroy Lewis Sr.

Leroy Lewis Sr., age 78, of Waukegan, IL was born on April 1, 1947, and went home to be with the Lord on June 17, 2025.

Leroy Lewis served in the US Army, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. Leroy enjoyed skating and working at Zion Roller Rink. Leroy worked many years in construction and LOVED life as an over-the-road truck driver.

Leroy was known for his flirtatiousness, and ability to make you laugh. Later in life, his greatest pride and joy came from being a grandfather, a role he embraced with open arms and a full heart.

Leroy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Estella and Andrew Lewis Sr., his siblings Andrew, Edward, Freddie, Magnolia Chatman, and Daisy. He is survived by his sisters Lula Mae Johnson and Betty Lewis; his children William, Barbara Carter, Leroy Lewis Jr. (Wilma), Tracy Lewis, Michael Lewis (Clara), and Shalonda Byrom (Marcus) and Nekia Pearson (Eddie); along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

His memory lives on in the stories, laughter, and love he shared with all who knew him.
