Marilyn Fischer

Marilyn “Lynn” Fischer, 96, passed away peacefully at her home in North Fort Myers, Florida on June 5, 2024.
Lynn was born on December 30, 1927, in Chicago, IL, to Carl and Agnes (nee Reimann) Schubert. She grew up in Oak Park, Illinois and graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School.
During her life, Lynn lived in Oak Park, Illinois; Antioch, Illinois; and finally, making her home in North Fort Myers, Florida with her daughter and son-in-law in 2016.
Lynn met and then married Donald Fischer on April 15,1950 at Christ Lutheran Church in Oak Park, Illinois.  Shortly after their marriage, they made their home in Antioch, Illinois. Lynn and Don were blessed with sharing 60 years of marriage.
Lynn was a devoted stay at home Mom to her two daughters for several years, before taking on a job at the Antioch Advertiser.  Lynn remained at that job until her retirement on December 31, 1991.
Lynn was a loving, gentle soul that spread joy and happiness wherever she went. “To know her, was to love her.”
Lynn enjoyed traveling the world and forty-nine of the states, alongside her husband Don.  She loved golfing, reading books, playing cards and going to McDonalds almost every day for her beloved “Mocha Frappe”.  Most important to Lynn was her family and large circle of friends.
Over the past few years, Florida has been where Lynn called home.  She enjoyed the warm weather, the Gulf, her lanai and golf rides around her community in Heron Glen.
In addition to her parents, Lynn was preceded in death by her devoted husband Donald and her brother Carl Schubert.
Survivors include daughters Diane (James) Alm of Antioch, Illinois and Kimberlee (Thomas) Pocrnich of North Fort Myers, Florida; grandsons Brian (Melissa) Alm and Jason Alm; great-granddaughter Savanah Cave (Cody Harper), great-grandson Mason Alm, and great-great-grandsons Knox and Kameron Harper.
