Mark Mojonnier

Mark R. Mojonnier, 75, of Wadsworth, IL passed away on February 10, 2026.

He was born on June 18, 1950 to the late Robert and Effie "Genevieve" Mojonnier in Pasadena, CA. On November 21, 1970 he married Joan E. Mojonnier in Elmwood Park, IL.

Mark is survived by his children Jennifer (Peter) Konar, Matthew (Billie) Mojonnier, Timothy Mojonnier, and Thomas (Lindsey) Mojonnier, 15 grandchildren Jordyn Konar, Kristopher (Kiersten) Konar, Tony Mojonnier, Lillian (Logan) Mojonnier, Kylie (Imran) Konar, Austin (Alex) Boley, Genevieve Mojonnier, Makayla Konar, Cameron Boley, Samuel Mojonnier, Alex Konar, Cailey Mojonnier, Ethan Mojonnier, and Myles Mojonnier, 3 great-grandchildren T.J., Emerson, and Krissy Konar, his brothers Steven (Cindy) Mojonnier and Alan (Lee) Mojonnier, his sister-in-law Barbara Houpt, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in passing by his parents and his beloved wife Joan Mojonnier.

Mark lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and deep devotion to his family. His strong work ethic began early. At just 12 years old in 1962, he worked as a farm hand, baling hay and milking cows. By 1966, he was working as a gas station attendant, pumping gas and repairing cars — an early sign of the mechanical skill and steady determination that would characterize much of his life.

In 1970, Mark began working as a programmer at American Industries, launching what would become a long and accomplished career in technology. In 1973, he joined MacLean-Fogg, where he remained until his retirement in 2022. Starting as a programmer, he advanced to IT Manager and ultimately retired as IT Director. Over nearly five decades with the company, Mark earned the deep respect of colleagues through his intelligence, leadership, problem-solving abilities, and unwavering commitment.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mark had a lifelong love of music. There wasn’t an instrument he couldn’t play, and his remarkable talent brought joy to those around him. In his younger years, he was part of a band, sharing his gift and passion for music with friends and audiences alike. As his life grew into the season of marriage and family, his music became a ministry. He faithfully served as an organist and choir director at his church, filling the sanctuary with both melody and heart. Whether performing on stage, playing in church, or making music at home, music was one of the truest expressions of his spirit.

He also found peace and connection on the water. Mark loved fishing and boating, and some of his most treasured memories were made at sunset on the water, spending time with one of his sons. Those quiet evenings offered space to talk, laugh, reflect, and simply be together — moments of fatherhood that strengthened bonds lasting far beyond the shoreline.

“PA,” as his grandchildren lovingly called him, cherished the days when all the children and grandchildren gathered together — swimming in the pool, laughing, and spending hours side by side. Those lively, joy-filled days meant everything to him.

Mark enjoyed working on cars and boats alongside his sons and son-in-law, and he always had a project in progress. He took pride in fixing, building, and improving things. He was happiest when his hands were busy, tools nearby, and family close.

For the past eight years, he was lovingly cared for by his son Tommy, Tommy’s wife Lindsey, and their children. Their devotion and daily love surrounded him with comfort, dignity, and steady companionship.
