Maxine Marie Lannoye (nee Kunstman), age 91 of Green Bay, passed away early March 11, 2026, at the Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL.
Maxine, affectionately known as "Mema" by some of her grandchildren, was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on June 1, 1934 to Vernon and Cynthia (nee Denny) Kunstman. She attended Green Bay East High School through 10th grade. She worked at Saint Vincent Hospital for several years. On June 18, 1955 she married Gerald W. Lannoye at Saint Peter and Pauls Church of Green Bay. She was happily married to Gerald for 41 years and they were inseparable until Gerald's passing in 1996. Maxine enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers as well as events with which her children and grandchildren participated. She also enjoyed fishing and spending time with her husband at the family cottage located in Townsend, WI. She loved the holidays especially after the arrival of the grandchildren. She always projected a happy and positive demeanor even after the onset of dementia. All of her aides over the years said that she was extremely funny and always happy go lucky. She will be missed and remembered by her family and friends.
She is survived by three sisters-in-law Joan Lannoye and Shirley Kunstman, both of Green Bay, and Claire (Leroy) Terrien of Junction City, OR. Also, she has two sons, Brian Lannoye of Chicago and Gregory (Cheryl Rennells) Lannoye of Grayslake, IL. Maxine has four grandchildren: Drew Lannoye of Madison, Stuart Lannoye of Wauconda, IL, Mathew and Michael Gross, both of Madison as well as their father Jeffrery Gross of De Pere. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Cynthia Kunstman, a brother Ronald Kunstman, and two sisters Gail Kunstman and Marcella Walton as well as one daughter Tina Gross, and her parents-in-law John F. and Mildred (Spude) Lannoye.
We acknowledge and thank the staff at Belmont Village of Buffalo Grove, Northwest Community Hospital of Arlington Heights, and Residential Hospice of Northbrook for their services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dementia Society of America.
Final services will take place in Green Bay, WI to be determined and will be announced.
