Michael (Mike) Salzeider

Michael (Mike) Salzeider, 71 of Lindenhurst, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

He was born on August 14, 1950 in Stambaugh, MI. On June 3, 2005, Michael was wed to Catherine Livingston.

Throughout his life, Mike enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and sports activities with his son and grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and particularly enjoyed professional football. He loved the Chicago Bears and Cubs but would not hesitate to bet on the opposing team to have “something to watch”. Mike was in a band as teenager and his love of music endured his entire life. One of his favorite hobbies was listening to music and dancing with his wife.

Mike was extremely loyal and generous to family and friends. He always ensured the people in his world were taken care of and he never expected anything in return.

Mike is survived by his wife, Catherine Salzeider; his children, Matthew (Danielle) Salzeider, Kelly (Ryan) Shea, John Zielinski, and Beth Sawyer; and his grandchildren, Mia, Riley, and Kayla.

He was preceded in death by his parents Reid and Margaret (Nordstrom) Salzeider.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, beginning at 10 a.m. at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL.  The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with entombment immediately following at Warren Cemetery, with Father James Merold presiding.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in accordance with current State of Illinois mandates, all guests will be required to wear a face mask while in the funeral home.
