Minerva Barreiro

Minerva Barreiro, age 81, of Wauconda, IL, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025. She is survived by her beloved children Sandra (Peter) Jonites, Nina Barreiro (significant other Cordell Wilson), Melissa Barreiro (Michael Powell), and David Barreiro; her cherished grandchildren Miranda and Gabriella Jonites, Olivia Powell, Marisa and Lucas Barreiro; and her dear siblings Esteban Tanguma, Juan Tanguma, Rosa Tanguma, and Ezequiel Tanguma Jr.

She is preceded in passing by her beloved husband of 53 years Arnoldo Barreiro, her proud parents Ezequiel and Dolores Tanguma, and her dear siblings Homero Tanguma and Hortensia Barrera.

She is a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend to many who will miss her. She moved through the world with deep faith, generosity and love that was admired by many who knew her.

Friends and family will meet for visitation on Thursday, June 12, 2025 starting at 4pm at Warren Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. The funeral service will take place following the visitation at 6PM. The committal service will be at Warren Cemetery and Mausoleum on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 12PM.

She will be deeply missed by all who know and love her.
