In Loving memory of Oscar D. Tate, 97 of North Chicago passed away on Tuesday September 4, 2018 at the Manteno Veteran's Home and Hospice in Manteno, Illinois.

He was born on November 5, 1920 to the late Luke and Beulah (Brookins) Tate in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Oscar served in the U.S. Army. On November 17, 1947 he married the former Mattie Dandridge. He worked for over 25 years at Midwest Molding. Oscar enjoyed gardening, repairing things, helping his neighbors, playing cards, and liked being a workaholic.

Oscar is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Mattie, his son, Sheridan (Judit) Tate, his daughter, Sandra Hayes, his grandchildren, Lisa Fenton, Darrick Tate, Samantha (Rodney) Eddings, Tiffany Johnson, Bradlenere Tate and 17 plus great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lenere Tate, his sisters, Geraldine Smith, and Louise Tate, and his grandson David Tate.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday September 11, 2018 at Warren Funeral Home located at 1475 N. Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, Illinois. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the Dr.'s and staff of Manteno Veteran's Home for their loving care of Oscar.

Burial will be in Warren Cemetery.

The family is being assisted by Warren Funeral Home.
