Ranzay Jackson, Jr., 85, of Waukegan went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago. He was born on May 23, 1927 in Robinsonville, Mississippi. He is survived by his loving wife, Malinda E. Jackson; children, Girley B. Jackson, Rosie Fields, Christine (Luzar) Burnes, Patricia Summers, Rossina Gordon, Ranzay J. (Wendy) Gordon, Annette (Tim) Holland, Angela (Alexander) Cooper, Floretta Gordon, Kenneth (Jean) Gordon, Francine Gordon, Lamont Gordon, George, Jr. (Bonnie) Tennort, Frank Tennort, Henry L. (Dorothy) Tennort, John P. (Doris) Tennort, Michael Tennort, Annie (Joe) Tennort-Nunnally, Rita (Willie) Tennort-Johnson, Carolyn (Alonzo, Sr.) Tennort-Hines; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ranzay, Sr. and Ida B. (Collins) Jackson; brothers, Y.C. Jackson and O.C. Jackson; sister, Ida Mae Waldon; children, Marvin Gordon, Eugene Gordon, Betty Jean Gordon, Helen Hamilton, Willie McCarty, Otha C. McCarty, Oscar H. McCarty and Robert McCarty. Ranzay was a US veteran and a charter member of the First Baptist Church of North Chicago. He worked and retired after many years of service from General Electric in Chicago. Visitation is Wednesday, March 13, 2012 from 10am-11am at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services are 11am, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the funeral home with Dr. Lee Zachary Maxey officiating. The repast will follow at the First Baptist Church of North Chicago. Entombment will be at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee.
