Raymond Card

Raymond G. Card, 75, of Waukegan, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. He was born on October 20, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Jesse and Lillian (nee Schultz) Card.

He is survived by his six loving children, Greg (Lisa) Card, Meg (David) Frey, Jeff Card, Nickie (Darrell) Olivier, Neller (Leonides) Polanco and Chris (Michelle) Card; twelve grandchildren, Harrison, Trevor, Louis, Julia, Ben, Nate, Maggie, Marnie (Deryk), Mallory (Chaz), Donny, Austin and Amber; three great-grandchildren, Jamie, John, Michael and Adin as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters.

He grew up on a farm in Lake County and graduated from Grayslake High School in 1957. A long-time resident of Waukegan, he was always helping people in the community. Over the years he was a loyal employee for Reed-Randle Ford and the Waukegan Regional Airport.

Ray was a member of the Lake County Republican Federation's Board of Governors and in 2013 received their Lifetime Achievement award recognizing all he had done for the Republican Party. Also, he was the Republican Party's Waukegan Township Chairman and a precinct committeeman.

Visitation is Friday, March 28, 2014 from 5-9pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL. Services are Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 10am at the funeral home with Pastor Timothy Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
