Rev. Jose Torres

Rev. Jose Torres, 96 of Waukegan, IL passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan.

He was born on March 19, 1922 to the late Rafael and Maria (de Refujio) Torres.   He was married to his wife Lupe for 65 years until her passing on September 22, 2011.  Rev. Jose pastored a church for many years and started many churches.  He brought people to the Lord many of whom are still serving the Lord today.   Jose enjoyed reading, baking, and was very crafty.  He sewed many costumes for Church plays, from the head to toe.

Jose is survived by his children, Alice (Paul) Sood, Frank (Emily) Torres, Rafael (Etta) Torres, Beatriz Torres, Maria (Ernesto) Figueroa, Esther Hutson and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lupe, his parents, his son Antonio (Sandra) Torres and his daughter Raquel Torres.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Latin Pentecostal Church located at 100 S. Chapel St. Waukegan, IL 60085.  Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. at the church.  Final prayers will be on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 9:00 A.M. at the church.

Entombment will be at Warren Cemetery
