Wadsworth, Illinois

Robert “Bob” “Bino” Trombino, 84, of Wadsworth, IL passed away unexpectedly January 14, 2022, at his home.  He was born August 18, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Robert Sr., and Theodora (Wicklander) Trombino.

Bob graduated from Waukegan Township High School, Class of 1955, where he excelled at football, basketball and wrestling.  Following graduation, he attended Northern Illinois University, eventually returning to Waukegan to marry, begin a new family and start his career at the family business, Lake County Office Equipment, serving multiple roles including sales representative, vice president and CEO over the course of a 50+ year career.

Bob worked tirelessly to help grow the business that provided for three generations of the Trombino family.  His warm smile and persistent ways were hard for customers to refuse which netted him a large following of loyal customers and close friends.

Away from work, Bob pursued his passion in the game of golf and after 40 years, he became known as “Eagle Man” for ultimately eagling every hole at Glen Flora Country Club, where he also achieved Club Championship status and many other golf accolades, while also serving as Club President and multiple committee and board positions.

In June 1989, he married his sweetheart, Donna (nee Shannon) Trombino and the two shared their life, love and beautiful bond for over 32 years.  Bob and Donna’s joy could be found in working together, traveling, gardening, spending time with family (especially the grandkids), feeding the animals and taking walks along the Kenosha lakefront.

Bob will be missed by many and is survived by his loving wife, Donna Trombino; in-laws, Marty and Dorothy Shannon; brother, Jim (Donna) Trombino; sons, Wesley Trombino and Bob (Val) Mosier; daughters, Linda (Pat) Busscher and Sandy Schwab; grandchildren, Megan (Brian) Pruitt, Michael (Kasia) Trombino, Patrick (Kameron) Busscher, Matthew Busscher, Justin Schwab, Jeremy Schwab, Olivia Mosier and Elliot Mosier; great-grandchildren, Faye Pruitt, Hudson Pruitt and Evyn Busscher; and nieces, Laura (Jack) Lafferty, Cindy Trombino, Debra Trombino and Stephanie (Jeff) Meyer.

Bob was preceded in Death by his parents Theodora and Robert Trombino, Sr.
