Roy Guthridge Jr

Roy Allen Guthridge, Jr, age 93, of Grayslake, formerly of Libertyville for 41 years, passed away on May 1, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was born September 6, 1923 to Roy and Zubie (Hayes) Guthridge, Sr.

Roy was a proud Navy Veteran and served in WWII as a Water Tender, 2/C. He retired in 1988 as a Sheet Metal Worker and was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 75. He also enjoyed woodworking.

Survived by 2 sons, Dan Guthridge of Grayslake; Brian (Lisa) Guthridge of Mundelein; 1 daughter Anna (John) Puccio, Naperville, IL; and 4 grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 2012; and 1 brother and 1 sister.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 3-6PM at Warren Funeral Home. Services will be at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa, beginning with a visitation at 9:30AM. Mass will be said starting at 10:30AM. Interment will take place at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed Homeless Veterans or the Alzheimer's Association.
