Royal Rockow

Royal Rockow, 83, of Grayslake, Illinois, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Alden of Long Grove. He was born on May 4^th, 1940 in Browntown, Wisconsin to Elaine and Eugene Rockow. On July 30^th, 1966, Royal married the love of his life, Judy (Wohlfeil) Rockow.

Throughout his life Royal enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and spending time with his wife, his family and friends. He was an avid conversationalist who never met a stranger. He was a great dancer, loved a good party, and poured a fantastic drink. Royal was a proud veteran of the 101^st Airborne Division of the United States Army. He was a cancer survivor who counted every one of his doctors, nurses and caregivers as friends and loyal companions on the road to recovery, and the family would like to thank them all for the loving care that they provided to him on that part of his journey. He had a love for life and we are all better people for having known him.

Royal is missed, loved, and survived by his wife Judy, his sons William, Bret (Leah), and Bart (Michelle), his grandchildren Bill (Bre), Chloe (Xander), Jacob, Miranda (Aaron), and Christian, 6 great-grandchildren, and his sister Karleen (Gene) Garner.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Royal’s name to the Salvation Army.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 25th, at 2:00 PM, with A Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 PM.  Inurnment to follow after service.
