Tomas Perez Sanchez

Tomas Perez Sanchez, 86, of Gurnee, IL died on Friday, January 6, 2023, with his loving family by his side.

Tomas was born in Victoria, TX on February 17, 1936. He met and married his wife of 62-years Tomasa Esparza Sanchez in Houston, TX in 1955. They relocated to Illinois and have been residents of Gurnee for 65 years.

Tomas is survived by his children Alfred Maldonado, Jimmy L. Sanchez (DeAnne), Juanita E. Sanchez (Vince), Rosalie E. Johnson, Debra E. Golden (Richard), Daniel E. Sanchez (Laura), Robert G. Sanchez (Kimberlee), Paul E Sanchez (Sherry); Grandchildren Amy Filiano (Louis), Eric Maldonado (Mayra), Kelly Anderson (Daniel), Tony Sanchez (Kelly), Joseph Sanchez (Jenna) Christina Aranda (Celso), Daniel Sanchez (Bernadette), Ryne Sanchez (Valerie), Michelle Cervantes (Luis), Cadie Sanchez (Mauricio), Emily VanCamp (Michael), Alicia Delgado, Teresa Posada (Josh), Rosemarie Delgado, Daniel J. Sanchez, Jennifer Gambaro (Colin), Nicole Sanchez, Thomas Sanchez, Sidney Navarrete (Giovanni), Alex Rose (Celene), Tyler Sanchez (Lauren), Isabel Sanchez, Julia Sanchez, and Jenna Sanchez and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Tomas is also survived by his last sibling Mary Lazara Sanchez Corpus.  Special mention to daughter in laws Deborah Sanchez, Jane Sanchez (Jeff), and special niece Amelia Farias.

Tomas is preceded in death by his wife, Tomasa Esparza Sanchez, his son Tony M. Sanchez, his parents Guadalupe P. and Abran Sanchez, brothers Daniel, Paul, and Raymond Sanchez, sisters Josephine Cervantes, Petra Damien, and Katie Melendez.

Tomas was retired at the time of his death. Prior to retiring Tomas served as a driver and/or aid with Safeway Transportation for many years. Tomas retired from Medline Industries and Stone Container.

Tomas enjoyed coaching slow-pitch softball, golfing, biking, and traveling.  Tomas’ favorite family activities were attending grandchildren/great-grandchildren softball, baseball, football, and soccer games; bonfires with grandson, Tommy and watching old western television shows daily.

Visitation for Tomas Sanchez will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd.( located on the northside of the intersection of Tri-State and Cemetery Rd.) in Gurnee, IL  60031.

All family and friends are invited to meet at church Saturday morning for the funeral mass.

Mass will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 9:30 am. at St. Patrick Church, 15000 W. Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth, IL  60083.

Following mass there will be a procession to Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville for the interment.
