Walter Kavich

August 29, 1944 — June 11, 2017

Walter A. Kavich 72 of Third Lake, IL passed away at Theresa's Home Care on Sunday, June 11, 2017 in Gurnee. He was born August 29, 1944 in Chicago and retired as a letter carrier with the US Postal Service in 2005 after 30 plus years of service. Walter moved from Chicago to Grayslake in 1976 and had been a member of St. Gilbert's Church in Grayslake and more recently became a member of St. Raphael the Archangel Church in Old Mill Creek, IL. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Survivors include his wife Dolores to whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August, one son Brian (Sarah) Kavich of Antioch, IL and one daughter Karen (Dale II) Henry of Gurnee, IL, one brother Steve (Linda) Kavich of Genoa City, Wis. And five grandchildren Ashley (Nick) Diehl, Dale Henry, III, Zachary, Allison and Evelyn Kavich. He was preceded in death by one brother Chester, Jr. and sister in law Melanie Kavich. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 5-8pm at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 North Cemetery Rd., Gurnee and Thursday from 9:30-10:30am at St. Raphael the Archangel Church, 40000 US RT 45, Old Mill Creek. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30am with Fr. James E. Merold officiating. Interment will follow at Millburn Cemetery, Millburn, IL. Donations may be made to St. Raphael Church in his memory.
