Gail Ann Mitchell Alexander, 77, of Erie, Pennsylvania, died at home on November 12, 2021 of natural causes. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut to Harriet and Grover Ivan Mitchell on February 14, 1944. She married Ronald Eugene Alexander on April 29, 1967.
Gail’s parents preceded her in death. Gail is survived by her husband Ronald. She is also survived by her sisters Patricia Broud of Wheaton, MD and Doris Mitchell (Dana Ring) of West Hartford, CT, her children Michelle Ahl (Bryan) of Pottersville, NY, David Alexander (Cherith) of Weedsport, NY, Peter Alexander (Charity) of Round Lake Beach, IL, and Sarahanne Burt (Joseph) of Erie, PA, and her grandchildren Nathan, Jonathan, Alexander, and Nadia.
Gail graduated from Manchester High School in 1962. She graduated from Ellen Cushing Junior College which was located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in 1965 with an Associate’s Degree in Christian Education. She was a military wife for 18 years, and a longtime resident of Lake County, Illinois. She taught and volunteered at Lake County Baptist School for 33 years. As of late, she had lived in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Gail loved God first of all, and was an active member in her church. She loved her family, to read, work on puzzles, be in the outdoors, and work with children. She enjoyed all four seasons that God created.
The visitation will be from 9 to 10AM on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Warren Funeral Home Chapel, 1475 North Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. The Funeral Service will follow at 10:30AM. There will also be a Memorial Service held at Walnut Creek Baptist Church, 6015 West Ridge Rd, Erie, PA 16508, on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 6:00PM.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in accordance with current State of Illinois mandates, all guests will be required to wear a face mask while in the funeral home.
